Crafting Community @ Simmer Down festival 2019
Looking forward to co ordinating the crafts & participation tent again this year for Simmer Down Festival 2019
Autumn Reflections
Have really enjoyed creating this ‘Autumn Reflections’ piece as a temporary installation on the lakeside plinth in Handsworth Park, reflecting the beauty of nature & changing foliage of the trees above. Hand made bunches Rowan tree berrys were also created, adding a splash of vibrant colour. After the piece was installed, a story telling session was held with local children, featuring “The Rowan Tree’s Gift” by Clair Hewitt. An artwork conceived and created by Scylla Magda of Crafting Community.
Commissioned by Handsworth Creative for Handsworth Park Arts Trail 2018
Mixed media : acrylic mirror, wood, ping pong balls, UV paint, black hemp twine.

Combustion
‘Combustion’ by Bobby Bird‘ 2009, made from recording a household Jøtul woodburning stove. If a domestic sized burner can sound like this, what might a 28ft long Cornish Boiler, used to heat up a Bolton & Watt beam engine sound like ?
This track was created as part of Birmingham Sound Matter a project curated by Francisco Lopez and AVA/Modulate in 2009. Is is included on the Birmingham Sound Matter CD compilation released on Audiobulb: www.audiobulb.com/albums/AB023/AB023.htm.
